EU STUDENTS - ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS TO THE SECOND LEVEL ACADEMIC COURSES

 

- EU applicants wherever resident and equivalent non-EU applicants or/and regularly living in Italy

EU applicants wherever resident and equivalent non-EU applicants or/and regularly living in Italy, as per article 39, paragraph 5 of Legislative Decree no. 286 of 25 July 1998, as amended by article 26 of Law no. 189 of 30 July 2002, “Amendment to the rules on immigration and asylum” can access without any limitation of quota.
The citizens of the following countries can be considered as equivalent to EU-students:

  • Vatican City                      
  • Norway                       
  • Iceland                     
  • Liechtenstein                     
  • Switzerland                     
  • Andorra                     
  • Republic of San Marino

as well as the following categories of students:  

  • political refugees
  • staff employed in the diplomatic foregn missions and in international Organizations having their registered office in Italy (accredited to the Italian State or the Holy See) and their dependent family members, limited to spouse and children
  • non-EU citizens legally living in Italy (pursuant to article 26 of law no. 189 of 30 July 2002), having a residence permit or EU residence permit for long-term stay due to:
  • employment
  • self-employment
  • family reasons
  • political asylum
  • humanitarian asylum
  • religious reasons

as well as:

  • non-EU citizens who have been regularly living in Italy for at least one year and holding a secondary school-leaving certificate obtained in Italy
  • non-EU citizens wherever resident, holding the final certificate of Italian schools abroad or of foreign or International schools operating in Italy or abroad, that are covered by bilateral agreements or special regulations for the recognition of the certificates and meeting the general admission requirements for study purposes.
 

Italian Proficiency test

For foreign students who meet the requirements, the admission test shall ascertain a good understanding of  Italian by way of a specific exam, necessary to access any other admission test. Foreign students may be admitted with an educational debit that shall be resolved passing an exam within the first year. In this case students shall have to attend the prospective course of Italian delivered by the Conservatorio.
In compliance with current regulations, students holding the above-mentioned certificates, listed in the following website http://www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri/ are entitled to the exemption from the  exam.
